More from the archive. A BBQ at friends, a glass or two of vin and a camera. There was this odd art work in the corner of the garden. These are two close up’s from the piece. I really want to go back and get some more - the blend of light, texture and “feel” was great.

Another from the archive. This was taken early one morning as the train was being prepared for departure. I couldn’t resist the Big Red Lever against the background of handmade brass dials, knobs, switched and other plumbing.

Oh. Didn’t I say. The Big Red Lever is about two inches long in real life. It’s a hand made 7” gauge steam locomotive. EVERYTHING you see above has been hand made from scratch. I can get more pictures if anyone is interested? Let me know in the comments please!

This is a picture of a good friend of mine. It’s called “In Your Face” for two reasons. One is because I got up really close with the 17-end of my lens. The other is that it gives you a good idea of what he’s like… I’ve known him for 20 years (wow) and he’s someone I can trust in the City. He’s one of the good guys.

Another one from the archive here. I was lucky enough to win a place on the company’s annual “Platinum Club” excursion for the top performing people each year. Last year it was to Mauritius. This picture sums up the place rather well I think.

In these two I have tried to get some view of the timelessness of the island. A little preset magic in Lightroom combined with some tweaking got these.

I work in Paddington but a week or so back I had to go back to my old stamping ground of the City of London. On my way home I had to go over London Bridge and having my “other” camera with me I stopped to take a couple of pictures of Tower Bridge and HMS Belfast as I crossed over.
I didn’t have a tripod with me (not even the Poundstore tripod) so these are taken with the camera resting on London Bridge itself so they aren’t pin sharp but they, to me at least, convey some of the beauty of Tower Bridge Old Father Thames at night.
I [heart] London…

I got back from a week in Dubai and I took this in segments using the 50D / EFS15-55 2.8. It’s the Burj Dubai, now renamed the Burj Khalifa after the Sheik of Abu Dhabi who provided financial assistance to Dubai. The renaming was part of the price.
I stitched them together using the demo version of AutoPano Pro 2 - oh how I wish I could afford this software! The demo software puts the watermark on the final image.

Oh, I almost forgot. This one is my favourite.
Danson Mansion across the lake, windows glinting in the snowy weak evening sunlight

I’m still catching up with some of my older photos. These were part of a much larger sequence created at my local boating lake which once every 20 years or so freezes over. I knew it was frozen but was waiting for the right time of day and clear skies. Two out of three ain’t bad,

Taken hand held at ~130mm on a cold grey miserable November afternoon at the Gloucester Ski Centre this is nice study of a member of the arachnids. Hope its not too scary for you!

Over Christmas we had lots of visitors and lots of visits. At one such visit I took this picture. She was watching her baby son playing with a complete stranger on the edge of a chair. A sense of wonder and the sense that a mother wants to intervene. I like this picture and hope you do too.
